CHRISTMAS! (A week late)

All I can say is that we got "Spoiled"
On Christmas Eve, after Case's family party we came home and I told Case to open the door, since I had stuff in my hand, and he told me his keys were way down in his pocket, so I had to open the door.. So, I opened the door and all I see was the Christmas lights reflecting off a New Recliner, with a card saying Merry Christmas! I said, Case Rod your a little sneak... I had no idea I was going to get a recliner. I had only mentioned it a few times to him awhile back, and really didnt think we could get one for awhile, but I was wrong. The chair is microfiber and light brown. I love it! I have been in it ever since. Its so comfortable.

I gave Case an ihome for his ipod, which he enjoys. He also got some cd's to put on his ipod. (He just barely learned how to put music on.. Ha Ha.. JK)
My family gave us a new video camera, dishes, and towels. Once again, another suprise we had no idea about getting video camera. It will be awesome when our little baby comes, and we will be able to use it more.
Case's family gave each of us money so we could do what ever we want with it, his brother and sister-in-law made us a beautiful quilt. Also, his mom gave me a cute sign about having a little boy.

For some reason we worry about what were going to get each other and from our families and it seems to be that we always come out with everything we wanted plus more.

Thank You Family for Everything!

I thought you were Pregnant??

It was last week at my cousin's baby blessing. My uncle Joey said, "I thought you were pregnant?" I stood up and showed my little belly, and then everyone said, "Ok you look a little pregnant."

Even my boss at work, said, "You still don't even look pregnant." Another employee didn't even know I was pregnant and that I had only a few weeks to go.

I think everyone was expecting me to be a little bit bigger, being 27 weeks. I think the way my body is (being short) my belly grows round, not outward, and that is probably why I don't look that big.

Don't get me wrong, I dont mind being not so big, I will probably pop out in a month or too, and then everyone will say, Wow! You really are pregnant.

Next week, I go to the doctors, so we will find out how everything is going.
Only 12 weeks left to go!

Did You Feel That?

Ever since I told Case I had felt our baby move, he a was so fascinated about it.

When he got home from work that night, he said, "Can I try to feel it?" I kind of chuckled and said, "Yeah give it a try to see if you can feel it." But he felt nothing. He was a little disappointed.

Lately, the baby has been moving like crazy. He is more active and likes to move around at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. The other night Case wanted to feel again, so I let him feel my stomach and I was being very still, and all of a sudden he said, "Did you feel that?" I said yes! That is him just kicking. Case was so excited that he actually got to feel his little boy move around. From then on, he always ask's me how his little boy is doing. All I know is that he is doing good and growing fast. My last appointment, the doctor said everything sounded good just by listening to the hearbeat. Case wasn't able to go the appointment since he was sick, and he told me to get a picture of his boy, but we didn't have an ultrasound. It will be next time. Hopefully, next time Case will be able to come and see the ultrasound.

Last night, we hung out at Case's Aunt house, they asked if he was moving around yet. And I said he was moving right now, so Case hurried and put his hand on my stomach and felt it move, and he actually saw it move. Everyone took turns feeling my stomach feeling the baby move.

Everyone is getting so excited for this baby.
We just wished he would come sooner.
Only a couple more months to go!

Case practicing holding my cousin Asher. Looks like a pro!

Half Way!

I'm half way into my pregancy!
At my last appointment, I went to the hospital to have the "Official" ultrasound.

They measured everything from head to toe, inside and out.
It was pretty cool to see everything being measured.
My favorite parts of the ultrasound was seeing the heart beat so fast, and while the ultrasound tech was pushing on my bellly, the baby was pushing away his hand for the tech to stop pressing on my belly. It was pretty cute to him being so active during the ultrasound.

We are getting pretty excited. Well, at least me and my mom.. (JK) We love to go shopping to buy cute clothes form him. He is going to be one spoiled little boy. Being the first grand-child on both sides..

The name we have picked out is Riley T. Rasmussen.
The "T" is from Case's grandpa's middle initial.

BOY or GIRL?

Well, It's true. We are having a baby BOY!
We are really excited. We went to the doctors last week, and the ultrasound was pretty cool. The baby is growing so fast, every 4 weeks it gets bigger and bigger.
When the doctor was determinig the sex of the baby, the baby was crossing its leg, and the dr said he could see "something is poking out between its leg"..... So, he determined IT'S A BOY!
Thats what I was hoping for, because I was raised with a sister. I really haven't had to experience dealing with a little boy in the family. Case, wanted a little girl first so, she could be "Daddy's little girl", but he was happy that we are having a boy now. He was saying the other day, "I can't wait to have a little buddy who get to fishing, playing hockey, and just hanging out together.
Both sides of the families are super excited for a Grandson. (Especially the Grandpa's to be so they can watch and play sports together.
I was going to put a picture of the ultrasound up, but the scanner wasn't working. Hopefully next time I will be able to put a picture of the ultrasound up.

UPDATE!

Wow!
There has been sooo much going on within the past month. I have been so busy. With a new job, and moving into our own apartment!
I went up to Idaho to see my new cousin be blessed and visit with them. I just love how cute they are. And when I do go visit them, they know exactly who I am.. My Nat! As Gage says. They are all growing up so fast! It was so nice to play and visit with them! I wish they lived closer to me (maybe one day).
The Family (Minus Gage, he was being a bum, he didnt want his picture taken)
Next!
Case and I, both "graduated" from school.. Well, I actually did. I finished my Medical Assistant in June, and the school had a graduation for those who have finished a class. Which, put Case in the category since he completed his EMT- Intermediate. He really didn't want to go, he wanted it to be my day. But, at the last minute he decided to "walk" across the stage.
It was fun "Graduating" together. This will be a "once in a lifetime" thing.

Finally!
We moved into out OWN apartment in Riverdale. At first we were a little hestistant on getting this apartment, because we wanted to save money and live with Rick for awhile. But, we just couldn't pass up the good offer of the apartment. So, we decided to move to Riverdale. It's just a 2 bedroom apartment, (but MUCH BIGGER than our apartment in Provo) We enjoy this apartment. It is so big compare to our first one. Big, living room, kitchen area (with a dishwasher, my favorite part) and washer & dryer hook-ups.
Our second night staying at the our new place, Case woke up to having a water leak in the bathroom that lead into the hall-way and water was every where.
Our upstairs neighbors had a toilet leak that they didnt know about, and ended up in our bathroom. The ceiling was soaked and water damaged, along with the carpet in the hall way.
I called the land lord and they came over to see the damage. They couldn't believe this happened. Luckily, they were very understanding and got everything fixed for us!
Also, we find out what we are having in 2 weeks! I'm hoping for a boy and Case wants a girl.. I guess we will see what happens. Hopefully, the doctor can see what it is!
Next post will be our finished ceiling to the bathroom. It is still in progress of being finished!

BIG NEWS!!!!

Well, I bet most people can guess our BIG NEWS. We are having a baby!

We went to the doctors yesterday and had our first pre-natal appointment. I was a little nervous, because I didn't even feel pregnant, and what if the doctor told us that we weren't pregnant. Anyways, the appointment went great! We had an ultrasound done, and everything looked good. The baby is in the right spot and heart beat sounds good. (That was the best part of the whole appointment, getting to see and listen to the heartbeat.)

Now, everyone is excited. At first when we told our family. Some were way excited and some didn't believe us. (Mostly my family, because we always teased them that we were pregnant, every time we told them to guess what and that is what we told them. When we finally did tell them that we were POSITIVE on being pregnant, they didn't believe us. They said once you go to the doctor and you begin to have a little pouch, then we will believe. So, once I was done at the doctor I told everyone that it was true. We were going to have a baby..

We are due February 13, which puts me at 8 1/2 weeks.

Key West Trip

Sorry it took me so long to post about our trip.
Our travels started on June 22 to Key West Florida, for our friends wedding. We woke up at 3:30 AM, needing to be at the airport by 5:30 to check in our luggage and get our boarding pass for our flight at 6:30 to Houston. The flight went smoothly. As we got to Houston, we had a 3 hour lay over, before our next flight to Miami. We just hung out and tried to sleep. We finally arrived to Miami about 6 PM and our friend who was suppose to pick us up wasn't there due to traffic, we had to wait a hour before he got there. As soon as our friend got to Miami, we hopped into the car and headed to Key West, about a 3 hour drive. About half way we stopped for dinner and kept traveling the Florida Keys. We finally arrive to Key West about 10 PM, and had to find our hotel. As I was booking our hotel, the manager told me she wasn't going to be there we arrived, so we had to go across the street to the tattoo shop to pick up our hotel key. It was pretty creepy and then we had to walk down a dark alley way to get into the hotel. The hotel had 2 locked down doors, before you actually go to your room. By this point, we worried about what the room was going to look like, it actually was pretty nice. It had a bed, TV, kitchenette, and bathroom (just a toilet and shower). I guess it was better than nothing. All we needed was a place to sleep. After we got settled, we went to find our friends and hung out for awhile. The main street everything was on was called Duval Street. That is where we hung out most of the time, just walking up and down the street for the first couple of days.
2nd Day: We slept in, got ready, went to Denny's for breakfast, set up our para-sailing trip, went to the beach. I wasn't too impressed.. I was expecting white sand, clear blue water, but it was like going to Pine view damn. Later on that night the girls and the guys split up to do their own thing (Bachelor & Bachelorette Party). The girls went out to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, and the rest of the first went out to the bars to drink, I just went back to our hotel and hung out with Case that night (the boys did the same thing) We were the only married couple that didn't drink.

3rd Day: Slept in all day! We didn't have anything planned until the wedding rehearsal at 4:30 pm. So we just relaxed until then. The rehearsal was at the beach. We all practiced going down the isle a couple time and then went over to our friend Brandon's (groom) parent's place to have pizza, go swimming, and go fishing in the canal.

4th Day: All the girls got up, had brunch at a cafe, relaxed and hung out, got ready for the wedding. We were about to leave for the wedding and it started raining pretty hard. We were all worried there wasn't going to be a wedding on the beach, but we waited a half hour, then it cleared up and we proceeded with the wedding. The ceremony was very nice. Case and I were both part of the wedding and set the ceremony off by walking down the isle first. After the ceremony we took pictures and had dinner. It was such a wonderful wedding to be apart of.

5th Day: Woke up early to got to the beach for our para sailing ride. As we were walking out the door, it started to rain hard once again. I was worried that our trip would get canceled. We just had to wait a hour for it to clear up. In that time we went to a museum about the city. I enjoyed the para sailing. The ride was smooth. As we got up in the air, we could see the whole island, and it was relaxing (even though it was a 12 min ride). later on that day we went snorkeling. I really didn't see much, just little fish and crabs. Case, saw a sting ray and some tropical fish. We each got to do something we wanted when we got down there. It was a fun day hanging out with each other.

6th day: We slept all day! We were exhausted from the wedding and the day before. About 4 o'clock we went to the beach and hung out with Brandon and Amy and went over to the Holmes' place again for a BBQ.
7th day: We did the same thing. Slept in, relaxed, and went shopping. We decided when your in Key West, you either need a lot of money or like to drink and party. Later on that night we went to a place called "Mallory Square" for a sunset celebration and where you watch the sunset and different entertainers do little shows ( magic, tumbling, knifes) and had little souvenir shops. It was fun! After the celebration we all went to see the movie Transformers.
8th day: Finally going home! we woke up to a phone call telling us, that we didn't have a ride to the airport and pretty much had to find a way by ourselves. So, we had to rent a car. As we arrived to the car rental place, as we were getting everything set up, they said our credit card was declined, because it was a debit card. So, we called Case's mom to see what she could do to help, luckily she helped out to make everything work out. Our car was some kind of convertible(something to get us to the airport) About a hour of driving we stopped for lunch. As we were waiting for our food, I received a phone call from the hotel saying we broke the silverware holder. got make-up on a pillow, and didn't do our dishes. And we would be charged $60 bucks for everything. I tried to explain to the manager that we had no idea about the silverware holder and had to do the dishes (usually that is what the maid does, that is their job). The manager was so upset she hung up on me. I called back and explained to her that I didn't sign anything regarding all of the problems. She finally said, let me look at your registration paper, and it wasn't signed (stupid lady!) She apologized and we were not charged. Thank Goodness! We finally arrived at the airport, got our luggage checked in and we were off on our flight to Houston. About half way through the flight, the pilot told us that Houston was having weather problems and couldn't land, so we stopped in Louisiana to refuel on gas and we would see what would happen. After 30 minutes we took off and was headed to Houston. When we finally landed, we had already missed our connecting flight to Salt Lake, do the airport gave us discount tickets for a hotel and rescheduled our flight to SLC for 9:30 on the morning. So, Case and I booked a hotel, took a shuttle to the hotel. By this time we were starving, so we went across the street to go to Taco Bell, but it was closed. So we ended up at the gas station to get food. Case had a burrito and I had a lunchable with chips. We checked into the hotel and it was so nice. (A $350 room for $77) It was wonderful! A king size bed, a pull-out couch, two TVs. This was the best part of the whole trip. We woke up early to shuttle back over to the airport to catch our flight. As soon as we got into our seats, we both closed our eyes and took a nap for awhile. As soon as we entered the SLC region we were so excited, we were almost home. WE FINALLY LANDED IN SLC! My mom was there to pick us up. We were so happy to see her. As we got home, Case had to get ready and go to work the rest of his shift. Luckily, I didn't have to go in to my work. I just relaxed.
And, now I can say, "HOME SWEET HOME"

FINALLY DONE WITH EXTERN HOURS!

Today, was my last day of my externship. I can't believe it. I had to complete 180 hours of clinicals. At first, when I thought 180 hours? I thought it would take me FOREVER, but it took me exactly a month to finish. It actually went pretty fast. The only thing that sucked about the whole things was... I was working for FREE. Not fun at all. Throughout the whole process of the extern hours, I learned SO MUCH, from giving shots, appplying splints, cutting casts off, and taking out stitches. I think my favorite part out of everything was getting the Kindergarden kids ready for school. I would take their heght, weight, blood pressure, eye test, and then at the end of the physical, I would have to be mean and give them their vaccines. I cant wait to actually start working, (which will be June 30, after out Vacation.) It will be nice to start my own routine of how things will be done at the doctor's office.

Last night, my mom invited me to go to her Enrichment Night for Relief Society, and they ended up making the beaded bracelet watches. It ended up to be a lot of fun. It was a nice girls night for my family. My mom, sister and mother-in-law came, and all we did was chit- chatted and had fun! There was such a selection to choose from, I had a hard time choosing. I finally choose a pink face watch with pink, brown, and silver beads to go with it. My mom picked out the same one, since we both like pink and wear a lot of pink. ( We have the same taste, with most stuff)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Today we celebrated my Mom's birthday!(Her actual birthday is June 3rd, which she shares with her mom) We had a BBQ at her house, with my grandparents, and uncle and his family. It was nice to see everyone. It always seems when ever there is a special gathering, birthday, and holidays is the only time you really get to see your family. I wish we could have more time just to go visit extended family and to get to know them better Hopefully, we can make the time to go visit our families. I know usualy Sunday's is our time to go visit a different family member each week. It's usually the only time everyone is home and relaxing.
My mom is such a sweet lady. She will do anything for you. She loves to help anyone from cooking dinner for a lady in the ward who had a baby, making crochet blankets for her nieces and nephews, or for her friends. She also makes yummy chocolates at Christmas time. I love you MOM!
With, Case and I we really dont have much going on. The only thing that we are excited for is our trip to Key West, for Case's best friend's wedding. When we heard they were going to get married there, we knew we had to go down and make it a vacation. So, we leave June 22 and will be back June 29. I cant wait just to enjoy the sun and the beach. I really want to go para-sailing. So hopefully we get to go!

This is NEW to ME!

Well, as most people. I have decided to get a blog. Thanks to my freind Kendra, she helped me get everything set up today. I guess for my first post. I will tell a little about myself and my family.
I'm from Roy. I love to hang out with family and friends, when I get time, I like to scrapbook and go shopping.
I met my husband Case while I was working at Mount Ogden Nursing Home and going to Weber State about four years ago. We dated for about a year and then Case went on a mission to St. Louis, Missouri. We wrote each other every week. About two weeks after Case got home from his mission we were engaged and two months we were married on January 4, 2008. We then moved down to Provo so Case could play hockey for BYU and go to school. I also went to school to get my Medical Assistant. We recently just moved back up to Layton, living with Case' dad.(So we can save money and buy a house)
Also, I just finished my Medical Assistant Program and interning and Wee Care Pediatrics. (Which I love! They are fun to watch)
Case is working at the Murray Hospital (Intermountain Medical Center) as an EMT in the Emergency Room. He enjoys working there. I always here some interesting stories. In the Fall he will attend Weber State and get his pre-req's done for the nursing program and hopefully get in soon!
Some of favorite things to do together is just hang out, watch movies, and go for walks with our dog Zoey.
We don't have any kids right now, but we consider Zoey our little girl.
I hope to post more things about my family. I think this is going to be fun!
