10 Months!

Another month has flown by again. Riley is 10 months and still growing!

He still is into everything! You turn your head for 1 second and he is either in another room or crawling up the stairs at grandma's house.

We have been teaching him some more sign language. He know's HI, BYE BYE, Blow's Kisses, and Aunt Mal's favorite Pewy. When ever he stinks we say, he stinks and he waves his arm side to side meaning PEWY. He is a smart little boy.

He now says MOMMA! And knows what it means. If he is sad he will crawl over to me and say MOMMA. Daddy is working on teaching him DADA.

He has learned to walk around the furinture with only one hand. He can balance by himself, and he will take a few steps by himself. Maybe, by next month he will be walking.

He now has 4 teeth on top and still 2 on the bottom.

Riley LOVES table food. If I try givig him baby food he will shake his head NO. We have been just mashing up our food and making sure his bites and tiny.

Latley he has been liking to play/read books. Hopefully, this will stick with him through out his life liking to read boooks.

He sure loves his family. He is starting to recognize more of each side of family. It might take him a mintute or too, to warm up to you, but he will play with you.

See you next month!

9 MONTHS

9 months?? Really? Time has gone by so fast. I cant beleive it.

Riley has a new adventure every day.
He is into EVERYTHING!
He loves cords that are plugged into the wall, he will crawl up to them and start shaking them. He is also curious about everything.. He will pull down the bathroom garabage to look for something. I have now had to put the garabage can on our shelf. He also like to play with the toilet paper, roll it all the way on the floor. He knows what he is doing, because when I tell him no no, he gets a big grin on his face. He thnks he is pretty sneaky. The other day the toilet seat was up, and he decided he was going to play in it. It was pretty funny, but disgusting. (His dad needs to remember to put the seat down. Ha Ha)

He loves cartoons. I have been renting different kinds of cartoon movies and he will just sit in my arms and watch it. We dont get through all of it, but he loves it.

He as learned to walk around the furniture. He is getting brave, and startig to walk with only one hand or take a tiny step. We all think he will be walking soon. Then he really will be everywhere.

We have been teaching him sign language and he knows bye-bye, Dad/Grandpa. And he is making so much noise. He makes the mmmmmmm noise, and once in awhile it will come out momma. I dont think he knows what he is sayin, but it sure is cute when he does.
Also, I have been teaching him to smile.. When I say cheese, he makes the cutest cheezy smile. Ha ha

He still doesnt like baby food.I think he is getting tired of the same stuff. He wants what we are eating, so we have been trying "real food" in small amounts and he love it.

And the best part of Riley being 9 months... Is he is FINALLY sleeping through the night. Mommy is getting so much rest.

Riley is so fun at this age! We love him so much!

Helping Aunt Mallory blow out her birthday candles!

His cheesy smile

Just being cute!

Halloween!

I know I'm a week late, but I thought some people would like to see Riley's costume.

The night before we went to Case's brothers house for a party (a costume party). If everyone knows me, I'm not a big fan of Halloween. I dont like dressing up, but for some reason this year I decieded to dress up for this party. So, I asked my mom for any costume ideas and she said either a witch or a cave woman. I said ok, I'll be a witch. But, later on my mom told me she had a costume for a "devil's egg" It's pretty funny. And Case was some kind of "scary" doctor and Riley was a monkey.

At the party Riley won "cutest" costume and I won "creative" costume. We had a good time. And Uncle Gage and Aunt Heidi won "cutest couple"

On Halloween, I took Riley to all the grandmas to show him off. It was pretty fun. One grandma gave him a sucker for his treat, and he loved it. He was one sticky boy after.

Maybe next year we will have a theme for our family.

MOAB

Last weekend Case and of a couple of his work friends ran a half marathon in Moab.
It was a nice weekend getway. We left Riley with my parents for the weekend (they were pretty brave for doing this for us, knowing they wouldn't get much sleep and that Riley is all over the place, But they said it would be fine.)
The race wasn't until Sunday morning, so while we were down there we decided to go camping for a few nights and explore the town.
Friday night we just set up camp and hung out with our friends. Saturday mornnig we had to go get the runner's packet with everything they needed and what to do the day of the race and then we went to go hike Arches. It was so nice down there, the weather was perfect
.

Sunday morning the runners got up bright and early and headed up to the race so they could be ready by 8:30 AM and the rest of us slept in and met them up there.
There were so many people up in the canyon, we were hoping we would be able to see everyone cross the finsih line. As our shuttle bus was driving up to the race, I could see Case running, we rolled down the windows of the shuttle and cheered Case on to the finish line. As soon as the bus stopped, I ran so I could get some pictures and see him cross the finish line. He finished the race in 1 hour and 50 mins. I was so excited for him. I couldn't do that. 13.1 miles. That is crazy, but he loves to run. Good Job Case!

It was a fun weekend with Case's friends.

Riley Boy is 8 Months!

Riley is growing so fast! Just with in a month he has learned so much.

He has learned how to climb up stairs at grandma's house, pull him self up on furniture, and making all kind of new noises. He loves to play in the tub and tries to grab the water when it is coming out of the faucet. His new favorite toy is behind the door, he plays with the door stopper. He likes the noise it makes when you move it. He likes to play peek-a-boo. He has a new face he makes, whenever he is being shy he puts his face down or if he has his blanket he will put his face in the blanket. He loves to have the attention on him.

Also, he likes to pull your hair. Today my hair was down and he used my hair to pull himself up. OUCH! It hurt. I always tell myself to pull it up, but I never do.

He doesn't like his diaper changed at all, he squirms all over and throws a fit, it is the same way when I try to dress him, he would just rather run around naked.
Just recently he has discovered his "boy part" whenever I change his diaper he always reaches down and grabs "it." He thinks its pretty funny. When he takes a bath, he plays with "it" and gets the biggest smile.

He is learning to eat more "real food". Whenever we eat, he opens his mouth to see if we will give him some food. (Just like a little bird) His favorite is ice cream. Ever since his grandpa gave him a taste, he has loved it since. The other day I gave him a taste of some ice cream, and he took the whole thing and started eating the ice cream cone.

Riley is such a sweet boy! He is starting to cuddle with you, when you hold him. We love him so much. He brings such joy in our family. He makes us laugh all the time.

7 Months!

I cant believe Riley is 7 months already. I just keep thinking I just barely had him and how small he was.

He is growing so fast. He is a smart little boy. He is crawilng all over the place. He loves to play with his toys. He loves to makes noises. He has two bottom teeth. He can shake his head NO (he learned this on his own) give high fives, and he is starting to clapp his hands. He is starting to eat big people food in little amounts. He is starting to reach for you, when you put your arms down to pick him up. I cant believe how much he has learned in the just a few weeks.

I have had to "Riley" proof my house. He is curious about everything. If he finds a cord, he starts to pull and shake it. He dumps all his toys all over. He follows you all over the house, if your not in the same room. He has learned how to make a whiney voice to let you know he is annoyed when you leave him, or when he doesnt get his way.

I love being able to stay home with Riley and play with him. When I'm at work, I always wonder what he is doing or learning. I know he is good hands with his grandparents. He loves spending time with them as well. He seems to bring a smile to everyone he sees. It's just those big blue eyes and his red hair. He is just too cute.

The only way he can fall asleep, is if he has his favorite blanket and his binkie in his mouth. He is getting better about almost sleeping through the night. He will get it one day.

He is becoming such a little boy now.

6 Months Old!

Wow!

I cant believe Riley is 6 months already. Its true when people say, "The grow so fast."

Riley learns a new trick or learns something new each week. One week it will be from making a funny face, (sucking on his bottom lip, looking like a duck. Dont have a picture of that yet.) to learning how to get up on all fours and scoop his way to a toy (more like doing a belly flop.) He just barely discovered his voice so any chance he gets, he is using it. He loves to watch tv(I think he just likes to see the bright colors), when he wakes up we watch all the educational programs. He is starting to be more curious about things, he reaches out for his toys, or when I'm holding him at the table, he will reach out for my plate. He is also teething, so he chews on everything.

I'm not sure how much he weighs, Im guessing between 15.5-16.5 pounds. He is getting so heavy just by carrying him in his carseat. It's all the baby food he is eating.Which he loves. He is such a good eater. His favorites are bannanas and carrots. He will just inhale those.

He is a such a Happy Baby. The only times he gets fussy is when he is tired or hungry. He is always smiling!

This one brings out his RED hair!

Bear Lake

Over the 24th of July my family went up to Bear Lake. We have had this vacation planned for awhile now, and everyone was excited to go.

When we got up there, we went straight into the water. It was so HOT up there. I made sure Case and Riley were covered in suncreen since they both have light skin. Case told me to do the same. I just barely put it on my face and shoulders. I wanted to get a tan, and I got burnt instead. It didnt bother me at all, just me ears. They were burnt to a crisp.

We rented some wave-runnners and they are a blast. The first day was a little choppy, but still fun. Next was good, but on Sunday the water was so smooth. We also, brought up a tube to go on the back of the wave-runners, and once I got on it, I was having fun, but once I went over a HUGE bump, it scared me. (I'm getting too old of this stuff, and plus Im a mom. Ha ha ) I still had a lot of fun on them.

The water was TOO cold for Riley to play in, but we put is feet in and let him splash around for awhile. Then we took him to the pool, where the water was nice and warm for him.

My parents also brought a bad-mitten net and we all got to play with it. We wanted to play it so bad on saturday night we set it up late, so there wasn't much light to play, but the next day, we had a little tournament against each other.

I think we all had a good time. By the end of the 3rd day EVERYONE was EXHAUSTED. The sun and playing all day wears you out.

Here are a few pictures.

My dad with his socks on. He forgot his water shoes, and he didnt want his feet to get sunburned.

Yay! I finally get to go home and relax!

Christmas in July

This past weekend My mom's side of the family went up to Lava Hot Springs to spend time togeher. Since, we dont have a Christmas party on this side of the family, because it is hard for my uncles and grandparents to come down in the middle of winter from Idaho. And that is why we all get together in the summer. In the past we have gone up to Pine View Dam and rented wave-runners, rented a cabin in Idaho and went fishing, and then this year up to Lava.

We went swimming all day, had a BBQ at night, and went to the hot pots. We all had a great time. The only ones that weren't able to make it cause of work was my sister Mallory, and cousin Dennette. Hopefully, next time we all can get together.

UPDATE!

Sorry, I haven't been too good about updating my blog. Being a mom is a full time job, and is hard to find time to sit down and update. Here is what has been going on for the last month.

Riley is now 4 months

The other day he had his check up. He is 13.3 Pounds and 25 inches long. He is tall and skinny as the doctor said. He also had to get 4 shots. It was so sad to see his face. He didn't know what to think of it, but daddy saved him and then he was ok. The doctor said it would be ok if we started him on cereal. So, that night I gave him some rice cereal and he did not like it one bit, he made a bitter face, and spit it out. My mom told me to try applesauce, and we tried that too, but he didn't like that either. Then finally, today I tried again and he started to like it a little bit better. Still made the bitter face, but ate more than he did the other day. We will see how it goes. I dont have a picture yet of him eating, but as soon as I do, I will post it.

He has learned so many things. He has started cooing and making a lot more noises with his voice. He can roll over from stomach to back. He still loves his hands in his mouth. He loves playing with toys. He likes splashing in the tub. He can recognize who you are now. He loves to be sung to. His favortie song is 5 little monkey's swinging in a tree teasing Mr. Alligator. He laughs when you tickle him. When were not paying attention to him, he will yell and wait for us to go play with him. The only thing that he is having a problem with(actually mom is) he wakes up once a night. That is still good compared to other babies. One day he will sleep through the night. He is growing so fast!

Grouse Creek

Case's mom is building a cabin. Well, it is built, just the inside needs to be finished. After 3 years the outside is finally done, except for the porch. The roof, siding, and dormers are done. The cabin has a 2 levels. The downstairs has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom, and the upstairs is just a big loft with a lot of open space. Thanks to my brother in law's father in law- Marvin. He knows so much about building houses. We really appreciate it! Our next project is to finish all the insulation, and put up sheet rock. Also,we have the electrical work done. When we have a generator we have a few lights and an outlet working. We have had a lot of help with this house, and we all appreciate it. We are looking forward of it being complete, but it will be a few more years. But, at least we can put a few beds up there and sleep up there.

Hopefully, I can keep up with my blog, so everyone can see how Riley is doing and the family. Thanks for visiting our blog!

Blessing Day!

Yesterday, we blessed Riley. I made sure he was fed and changed before we went to church. He was wide awake when we got to church. I was worried he would start to fuss during the blessing, but he did great. Case, said he had his eyes wide open and was wondering what was going on. He did so good, he enjoyed it. And Case did such a great job on the blessing. After he was blessed, he got passed around being held my family members. Next, it was my turn to do my part. I have always felt when a baby was blessed that the dad blessed the baby, and the mom had to bare her testimony if it was fast Sunday. I didn't know if I wanted to get up in front of a lot of people, every time a little kid went up, I told my self it cant be that hard, so I would go up after they were done, but I never did. Finally, I was brave enough and was the last one to give my testimony. I felt so much better after I gave my testimony. After church, we all headed to my parents house to have lunch. It turned out so nice. So much yummy food. It was so nice to have our family and friends come over to hang out for awhile. Thank You!

Riley, has been growing so much! Just with in a week, I have noticed he has grown a lot. He is finally in three months clothes. Also, he has discovered so many new things such as.. Playing with his tounge, making loud noises, sucking on his hands, and smiling so much more. Also, he is learning how to sleep in his own crib, which is so nice, so mommy and daddy can get some sleep. The other night, he slept from 10:30 PM until 5 AM. It was so nice.

2 Months And Counting!

My Riley Boy is 2 months!

Where has the time gone? He is growing everyday in so many different ways.
He brings a smile to our face everytime we see him.
He still is in his newborn clothes, but some of them are getting a little tight on hin, soon he will be in his 3 month clothes. Im hoping by May he will be a little bigger in order to fit in his blessing outfit.

He is starting to eat more and sleeping longer. I kind of have a routine for him, so he can sleep good at night. I give him a bath, feed him, rock him to sleep, and by 8:30 or 9 he is fast asleep. And he will sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning. He will eat again, and by half way of the bottle he is sleeping again. So, he is doing pretty good.

On Monday, we went to the doctor for his 2 month well check. I was wondering how much he would weight. The night before we were all guessing on how much he weighs, so I went on my mom's scale to see how much I weighed with him in my arms, and then we subtracted his weight from mine, and the scale told us that he was 10 pounds. I didn't beleive it. So, when Riley was on the baby scale he weighed 9 pounds 10 ounces, and was 22 inches long. I was shocked he gained that much weight in 2 months.

The one thing I'm working on is having him sleep in his crib, rather in my arms in the rocking chair at night. Hopefully we can work on this, so he doesn't get used to sleeping with me every night.

Some of his favorite things to do is..
- Just lay on the floor and move his little body
- Make cute little noises, like he is talking to us
- Snuggle
- Smile

We love having Riley in our lives, he is such a sweet little boy.
We love him so much!

New Pictures!

Riley is growing so fast! I cant believe it.
He is starting to...
Hold his head up
Focus more
SMILE
Make little noises at you, when you talk to him.
It's so fun to see him do all of these things.
He is my sweet little boy!

5 Generations!

On my Mom's side we were able to take a 5 Generation picuture.
My Mom's Dad's side, My Great Grandma Fran turned 90 in January, she is such a sweet lady.
When we went to take the picture, she said it took her 90 years to finally get a 5 generation picture. I was happy that I was able to do that for her.

On my Mom's, Mom's side, My Great Grandpa Pete who is 89, such a nice guy once you get to know him. When you first meet him, you might think he is an old onrgy man, but he is a great guy. Something neat about this side of the family, is that Riley was born on the anniversary of my Great Grandma Reah, who passed away a year ago. It was a blessing to have him come on that day. Also, my Aunt Ardene who passed away last August had alway wanted a red-headed little boy, and thats exactly what Riley has.
We all miss them very much, but we know that they are watching over us and taking care of us.
