2 Weeks Old

WOW!
I cant believe I have been a Mom for 2 weeks now. The joys of being a mom is wonderful.
From the day Riley was born until now. He has changed so much. He is starting to fill out more.

We went to his 2 week check up and I was a little nervous to see if he had gain anything. And he actually gained alomost a pound from when he was born. He now weighs 5.13 and grew almost a half of inch, 19.5. I was so happy to know that he was gaining some weight.

Alot of people always ask if he is awake. My answer is no, he is sleeping. Is that all he ever does? Pretty much.. He eats, sleeps, and poops. Ha ha. I have notice that he is starting to be more alert, recorganize Case and My voices, and focusing on different objects. It is fun to see his different faces.

We took Riley to go get his pictures done by Case's cousin (Austin) and he did not like it at all. He didnt like the flash from the camera. He would cry everytime the flash went off. We did get a few pictures of him sleeping, laying down, and a few one of him crying. He did pretty good for being only 2 weeks old. We tried to get a naked bum picture, so we had him already on the blanket and he started peeing all over the blanket. After that we said that is enough of torture for one photo shoot. Hopefully, when he gets a little bit older we will be able to get some good pictures of him.

Here a few pictures of what I have been taking, since I stay home all day and get bored sometimes, so we play and take some pictures together.. ENJOY!

Finally! Our Riley Is Here!

Riley T. Rasmussen came into this world on February 11 at 3:25 PM.

The story begins early Thursday morning about 3 AM I started having sharp pains in my lower back, so I decided to take a bath to see if they would go away. I went back to bed and the pain was still there. This time I woke up and my water broke and I really didnt think of doing any thing about it. Once again, I went back to bed to see the pain would go away, but I was WRONG. Finally, around 7:30 AM, I told Case that we had to go to the hospital. So, we got our stuff and headed to the hospital. We got there around 8:30 AM. I had my IV put in, and was just waiting for my baby to come. At this time, I was about a "1" and I couldn't take the pain anymore, so I decided to get my epidural. After, that I was in heaven. I couldn't feel much anymore. Everytime the nurse came in, she said I was progressing and now I was at "2-3". I just layed there and every hour the nurse came in and checked me and I was at a "4",then I jumped to a "7" in 45mins. Next, thing I knew the nurse said, "Oh my gosh, there is a head", and that was about 30 mins after checking me at a "7." So, the nurse called the doctor to come in and deliver this baby. About 20 mins later and 3 pushes, we had a little baby here. He weighed 5 lbs 2 oz. and was 18.75 inches long. (Only 2 days early) Yes, I know, what at TINY baby. (But He will GROW so FAST.)

We stayed in the hospital for two days, and it was so nice. The nurses were so helpful. Also, our family and friends came up to visit and ALL took turns holding Riley. We were so thankful for EVERYONE'S company. And cant wait for the FUN JOURNEY ahead of us with our new edition to our family.

38 Weeks (Almost 39)!

Wow! Only a week and a half left to go!

Today, I spent my day getting ready for my baby boy to come. My sister made me look beautiful. She did my hair, put some highlights in it and gave my hair a nice trim. It always feels so nice to get my hair done, especially when your sister does it for you. And she knows exactly what I like. I love it! Thanks

I also, went to the doctors to see what he had to say about being 38 and a half weeks. All, he did was check me and told me I was NOT dialated, but that doesn't mean I couldn't go into labor later that night. Also, he said that everything looked good and he will see me next week, (or sooner, that is what I'm hoping), but we will see what happens within the week.

Everyone is telling different ways to induce labor. My mom said, to use castor oil... Eww.. Just the thought of drinking something doesn't sound fun, plus the side effects that come with drinking the oil. I'm not trying this one. Also, people at work are saying go for a run, do some jumping jack, or clean the house. My thoughts are he will come when he is ready, even though Case and I are ready for him to come.

So, We will see what happens!
