Becoming Crafty!

Lately, I have been doing some crafts once a month.
I recently found a place where they sell all kinds of wood, metal and decorations, that you can paint. (I could spend $100 bucks in that store)

My mother in- law bought me a cute display table that, I could put my decorations on or just my pictures. Well, it has turned into my decoration table.
My goal is to make a cute decoration for each holiday or season.

Here are a few things I have done with in the last month.. (I can't wait for Christmas, knowing there will be tons of CUTE things I can and want to make..)

With our family update..

Case, has started back to school for the fall semester.. Also, hoping to get into the nursing program (again), it is a very tough program to get into.. This year he will have completed all the pre-req's and will have his associate's degree.


Riley is learing to talk.. You can tell he wants to talk, and just makes up his own language. He is so cute.. He now know's how to say eat, bye bye, mom..

And Me, i have been trying to get caught up on my scrapbooking. I just finished Riley's baby book, and now starting on the year 2011. I know, I'm way behind, but at least it is getting done slowly..

UPDATE

I know, I haven't posted FOREVER..
I will do my best to update everything that has gone one within the last couple of months.

We FINALLY bought our first home.. We love it. We have so much more room, compared to a 2 bedroom apartment, to a 5 bedroom house. We have filled every room with our stuff (junk) It's so nice have our own space. We are trying to work on the yard work.. It needs a lot of work. We are trying our best to keep it nice, but we mainly have weeds, instead of grass. We might start fresh in the Spring with new grass.

Riely is almost 18 months.. He is such a little boy. He is into everything. He has started his terrible 2 stage, if he doesn't get his way, he throws a tantrum. On the other side of things, he is a fun little boy. He loves to play with his family, or if he sees kids outside playing he will go up to them and give them a hug.. He does't talk much, but he uses sign language to communicate. He is so smart. Once you teach him something, he will remember it. His favorite things to eat are corn, chips, goldfish, and m&m's (num-nums is what he calls anykind of treat) Riley makes our family smile everytime we see him, he is such a joy in our family.

Case is working and going to school. He finished his first marathon in June, and is preparing for his second one in Ocotober in St.George. He is hoping to get under 4 hours.. Good Luck!

I keep busy with working 3 days a week, keeping up with Riley, organizing the house, and my new favorite is taking a Zumba class. I love it! I wouldn't trade my life for anything, I enjoy being a mom to Riley, and being a wife to Case.
I hope that I can keep updated with our family and try to post something at least monthly to let everyone know what we have been up too.

We just got back from a 2 week vacation.. Going to our cabin in Grouse Creek, hiking in Zions, and just spending time with family.

SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME

Well, this morning me and Riley did our normal routine when we woke up.. Watch cartoons and had breakfast.

But, today while we were playing, Riley decided to take a walk in the kitchen to play. I went to go get him ,and he had put something in his mouth. I tried to get it out, but he had already swallowed it.

After about 20 mins, he started to get cranky so I gave him a bottle and snuggled up to see if we would take a nap. All of a sudden he puked everywhere.. So, I hurried up and put him in the tub to clean him up, and I noticed he wasn't himself, he was pale as a ghost and kept bobbing his head to sleep. At this point I was nervous and called Case at work.. He told me to call my work (Wee Care) to see what we should do, and they told us just to call 911. Now, I was really nervous.. Next, thing I knew the police, paramedic, and fire department was in my apartment checking out Riley to see if he was ok. They said, it was best to take him to the ER to get checked out. So, we took an ambulance ride and got some blood test done.. (4 hours later) everything turned out to be just fine. (We still don't know what he swallowed)

Wow, what a scare to the family. Even though we work in the medical field and see this everyday, it is SOOO different when it comes to your own kid. We are so happy that he is a healthy little boy.

Riley is our pride and joy, and love him so much.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Wow, a whole year has gone by. I can't believe it.

I remember when we were at the hospital, everyone kept saying how tiny he was, at 5.2 pounds. They treated Riley like he was a preemie, but he was only a 2 days early. Now, he has tripled his weight.

He is such a happy little boy.
Every morning we wake up and watch some of his favorite shows.. Curious George, Cat in the hat, and Dinosaur Train. He will just sit and play while these shows are on.

Some fun things he does right now are he says "mmmm" when he sees food. Put his head on his blanket, knowing he wants to fall asleep, or just snuggle. He waves "bye-bye" when we go places. His favorite game is "where's Riley" and he play peek-a-boo with his blanket.

For his party, we had a Curious George party. I have never seen so many grandparents for one little boy. We had lots of fun, and he got SPOILED. We opened present (still loving the paper) and had some cake. (He really didnt dig into his cake, he really didnt know what to do with it. Riley got a lot of cool and fun things to play with.

Riley is such a joy to our lives. We love him so much.

UPDATE!

This year, for Christmas, I was super excited to see the reaction on Riley's face. He really didn't know what was going on. All he like was the wrapping paper, boxes, and the shiny lights. We had fun though.




Next, Case and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary on January 4th I cant believe it has been 3 years. Now, we have a little cute family. I enjoy being a wife and a mom.

Riley is 11 months!
He has learned so much within a month.
He is walking all over the place.
He knows more sign language. He know's Grandma and hot. It's so amazing to me that little kids can pick up stuff so quickly.
He still gets into everything.
He is so much more cuddly. Whenever he sees a blanket, pillow, or someone, he will lay his head on it and give it a hug.
He has learned to dance a little when he hears the music.
Today, we were watching The Cat in the Hat, and when the cat did something funny, Riley giggled at the TV. He thought he was pretty cool.

I cant believe he will be 1 in a month!




First Haircut!
Last night, Aunt Mal cut his hair.
We were all worried he would freak out, but actually he did AWESOME.
We think he enjoyed it.
He doesn't look like a baby anymore, He is looks like a little boy now.

10 Months!

Another month has flown by again. Riley is 10 months and still growing!

He still is into everything! You turn your head for 1 second and he is either in another room or crawling up the stairs at grandma's house.

We have been teaching him some more sign language. He know's HI, BYE BYE, Blow's Kisses, and Aunt Mal's favorite Pewy. When ever he stinks we say, he stinks and he waves his arm side to side meaning PEWY. He is a smart little boy.

He now says MOMMA! And knows what it means. If he is sad he will crawl over to me and say MOMMA. Daddy is working on teaching him DADA.

He has learned to walk around the furinture with only one hand. He can balance by himself, and he will take a few steps by himself. Maybe, by next month he will be walking.

He now has 4 teeth on top and still 2 on the bottom.

Riley LOVES table food. If I try givig him baby food he will shake his head NO. We have been just mashing up our food and making sure his bites and tiny.

Latley he has been liking to play/read books. Hopefully, this will stick with him through out his life liking to read boooks.

He sure loves his family. He is starting to recognize more of each side of family. It might take him a mintute or too, to warm up to you, but he will play with you.

9 MONTHS

9 months?? Really? Time has gone by so fast. I cant beleive it.

Riley has a new adventure every day.
He is into EVERYTHING!
He loves cords that are plugged into the wall, he will crawl up to them and start shaking them. He is also curious about everything.. He will pull down the bathroom garabage to look for something. I have now had to put the garabage can on our shelf. He also like to play with the toilet paper, roll it all the way on the floor. He knows what he is doing, because when I tell him no no, he gets a big grin on his face. He thnks he is pretty sneaky. The other day the toilet seat was up, and he decided he was going to play in it. It was pretty funny, but disgusting. (His dad needs to remember to put the seat down. Ha Ha)

He loves cartoons. I have been renting different kinds of cartoon movies and he will just sit in my arms and watch it. We dont get through all of it, but he loves it.

He as learned to walk around the furniture. He is getting brave, and startig to walk with only one hand or take a tiny step. We all think he will be walking soon. Then he really will be everywhere.

We have been teaching him sign language and he knows bye-bye, Dad/Grandpa. And he is making so much noise. He makes the mmmmmmm noise, and once in awhile it will come out momma. I dont think he knows what he is sayin, but it sure is cute when he does.
Also, I have been teaching him to smile.. When I say cheese, he makes the cutest cheezy smile. Ha ha

He still doesnt like baby food.I think he is getting tired of the same stuff. He wants what we are eating, so we have been trying "real food" in small amounts and he love it.

And the best part of Riley being 9 months... Is he is FINALLY sleeping through the night. Mommy is getting so much rest.

Riley is so fun at this age! We love him so much!
